The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley.

This is a production acceptance certification specialist position to be filled by Hill Air Force Base for the 309
th
Software Maintenance Group, however this announcement may be used to fill other positions at Hill AFB.
As production acceptance certification specialist you serve as the administrator manager for the Production Acceptance Certification, Special Skills Qualification, Production Acceptance Certification Standard System, and Civilian Training Plan. You will serve as the liaison and coordinate with work leaders, trainers, managers, and supervisors on courses not fully supported by OB.
You will also:
- Direct and/or conduct program assessments for audits/reviews on a periodic basis.
- Based on an up to date knowledge of the organization and its process functions ensure assembled PAC teams are progressing and achieving program goals.
- Identify problems, both in broad and detailed forms, and attempts to resolve conflicts in a timely manner through persuasive discussions with responsible members of the meeting or working group.
- Present briefings.
- Contact subject matter experts working in various series and skills to assure accurate training duties and requirements have been included in the civilian training plan.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
You must have one year of specialized experience (52 weeks of full time experience) at a level close to the work of this position that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade
level GS-09
pay band or equivalent. Specialized experience is described as e
xperience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Applicants, who have the 52 weeks of appropriate specialized experience, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION
:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or,
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or,
LL.M., if related.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of regulations, policies, and practices related to PAC, SSQ, and training programs.
2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
3. Broad knowledge of the full range of quality management principles (Federal, Air Force, and Private Sector) and the ability to adapt these to the mission of the serviced organization.
4. Knowledge of production phase process and the training and skills required of employees to be PAC certified.
5. Ability to gain cooperation from others through facts, courtesy, and diplomacy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.

OTHER INFORMATION:
1. Position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel by government or commercial means.
2. May be required to work irregular tours of duty in support of a surge workload, exercise, contingency or emergency.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an SECRET security clearance as a condition of employment.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
The work is primarily sedentary, with some walking and standing to observe work processes in production areas.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a typical office setting with adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation. Incumbent works with maintenance supervisors to identify needs and will be required to go out to the work areas to gather/identify requirements. In the performance of those duties may be subject to normal hazards of those areas and must be aware of all safety precautions applicable.
