Softlines Responsibilities
Scope of responsibility: Softlines Departments (Apparel and Footwear)
Responsible for the implementation of merchandise presentation standards, signage in the Softlines Departments to meet company standards and to maximize profit
Assists in training Softlines associates in company procedures and programs, including new hire and ongoing merchandising and product/technical training
Commun! icates all company information to Softlines associates regardi! ng special promotions and company programs
Works with the General Sales Manager to analyze sales reports and data to understand Softlines merchandise needs and opportunities and communicates these needs through the company-directed programs Operations
Responsible for registers, cash office and front end operations
Responsible for processing and pricing of the trade in/used club business
Responsible for ensuring cleanliness standards in their area of responsibility as well as throughout the store.
Performs the Sales Manager on Duty (SMOD) responsibilities, ensuring that customers are greeted and acknowledged; offers customers assistance as needed or requested
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect by using diplomacy and tact.
Assists the store management team in achieving a shrink level equal to, or less than, the goal set by the Corporate Loss Preventio! n Department by maintaining company loss prevention standards and controls.
Assists the store management team with general supervision in the store in accordance with company policies and procedures including opening and closing the store and coverage as assigned
Is WISE certified (via the Learn Center); actively promotes and exhibits expertise in WISE selling techniques and supports and executes WISE mentoring initiatives and programs. Administrative
Takes an active role in helping to ensure that the store meets its P&L objectives for sales, margin, inventory, payroll, and other controllable expenses such as supplies and operating costs.
In conjunction with the Hardlines Manager, completes schedules to ensure proper coverage and monitors payroll daily to ensure that the payroll plan is met.
Participates in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, training, guiding, leading and evaluating Softlines hourly associates.
Partner! s with the General Sales Manager to issue appropriate counseling and di! sciplinary action to those associates who fail to meet or achieve company policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Helps to ensure compliance with all company guidelines involved with safety, loss prevention, and cash handling procedures.
Shops the competition to competitively position the store
Maintains a thorough knowledge of products, services, merchandise promotions, and advertising.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary company information.
Monitors store email and TEAM communications and takes action on directives and projects as needed.
Complies with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding store operations.
