American Conservation Experience, a non-profit conservation corps with growing nationwide operations, is seeking an outstanding candidate for AmeriCorps Program Supervisor to manage a small but complex national AmeriCorps Education Award Program (EAP) and other office duties in the National Internship Office located in the Sugarhouse area of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of attributes, including some management background in either the non-profit and/or the government field, possess an understanding of accounting, finance, contracting, grant & infor! mation management, information technology, web and social media outlets, and an ability to generate and sustain an office that supports hundreds of interns nationwide, dozens of project partners, and manage & streamline numerous databases and related human resource tasks and federal reporting requirements. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Strong preference will be given to candidates with advanced knowledge and/or experience using Excel and creating and managing other Databases. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with the Program Director and Program Manager in a small office environment as well as working independently, taking initiative to complete position duties with minimal guidance at times.
Past experience working with AmeriCorps grant management and reporting, accounting, IT, human resources, social media, recruitment, and communications are all desirable. AmeriCorps grant requirements are detailed and exacting. The ! success or failure of any AmeriCorps program depends largely on the tho! roughness and diligence of the program supervisor and staff, as well as their ability to adhere to stringent reporting requirements. ACE's AmeriCorps EPIC Program Supervisor will be primarily responsible for writing quarterly reports, maintaining member and staff files, preparing for AmeriCorps and general programmatic audits, processing AmeriCorps reimbursements, and processing payroll. Also, tracking progress towards performance measures, serving as secondary point of contact and general liaison between ACE and our AmeriCorps funders, coordinating trainings, and generally assuring programmatic compliance with all administrative terms and conditions of ACE's AmeriCorps grant is all important.
ACE recognizes that, for the right candidate, a desire to learn and an interest in our mission can quickly alleviate some gaps in desired knowledge or experience. However, recruitment of candidates with a well-developed passion for the outdoors, whether in theory or applicati! on, is critical. While the position is not field-based, ACE strongly believes that understanding the skillset needed by our natural resource management partners is critical.
A BA/BS degree (or higher) in non-profit management, accounting, business management, computer science, international affairs, communications, or other related educational background is important, however, individuals with Natural Resource degrees who have a strong managerial skillset are also encouraged to apply. The candidate must philosophically understand the importance of professional development in concert with achieving higher education.
Past work experience with a conservation corps or within an AmeriCorps program is strongly desired.
Specific job duties include:
1) Manage all day-to-day AmeriCorps administrative duties, including member AmeriCorps enrollment, payroll, reimbursement, and intern records. Develop new ways to streamline the intern management pr! ocess, including electronic files, and online database systems. Maintai! n a highly organized filing and archive system for long-term record keeping and reporting.
2) Candidates must exhibit positive interpersonal skills with the ability and willingness to enforce professional standards in a strict yet encouraging manner.
3) Must be willing to learn about the complex variability of needs between AmeriCorps and our project partners which include the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, US Fish & Wildlife Service, and many other partners.
4) Develop and manage an internship tracking system, manage questionnaires and evaluations, assist in career development efforts for current and past interns. Developing and maintaining a tracking system for ACE alumni is critical.
5) Create fillable forms and complex budget management spreadsheets in Excel, Access, or other readily available database program (preferred for Mac)
6) Assist with basic management of Lion Server OS network f! or Mac.
7) Participate in the development of a marketing and outreach campaign for the EPIC program, including assisting in contributing stories to a quarterly newsletter, managing and regularly updating web content, and creating a strategy to enhance alumni relations.
8) Other duties as assigned, including attending job fairs, grant research and writing, invoicing, research, field supervision, and project coordination.

Compensation : Approximate pay rate $10-14 per hour depending on experience. This is an hourly position, but has growth potential for someone who can help to! elevate our organization to the next level.
Hours : 20! -40 hours per week. Work schedule is flexible. Occasional evening, weekend (including possible Sunday) and/or holiday work will be necessary. Occasional travel may be required.
