Under limited direction, plans, directs and implements human resources policies, activities, communications, recruitment and employee relations for the Salt Lake City site. Provides counsel and direction to managers and employees regarding Human Resources policies and practices. Supervises managers, supervisors and assigned department staff to meet business goals and objectives.

Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.

    Manages department’s performance and productivity to ensure conformance to standards established by Human Resources management; assures that Company’s standards of performance and productivity are communicated to all employees; ensures that policies and procedures are administered and interpreted in a fair and consistent manner; adheres to personal performance and productivity standards established by Human Resources management.
  • Ensures a productive work environment; monitors the employee relations climate to assure effective management of Company’s Human Resources; provides guidance and counsel to management and staff on Human Resources issues to foster high levels of productivity and employee morale; ensures effective communication of critical issues and best practices.
  • Develops and implements Human Resources Plans for each functional area within the company in conjunction with the appropriate Human Resources management and/or line leaders. Ensur! es plans are effectively implemented and makes revisions/modifications as appropriate. Provides feedback to other Human Resources peers on business needs and industry competitive trends. Ensures that the organizational development actions are identified and implemented.
  • Effectively works with business partners to identify opportunities to maximize business performance. Identify needs, analyze data, develop recommendations, and implement plans and projects that maximize employee performance.
  • Monitors all Company operations and Human Resources activities; conducts employee interviews and meetings to assess current work environment and address questions and issues; investigates employee complaints and facilitates resolution; counsels employees in accordance with company philosophy and objectives; resolves problems requiring senior management intervention.
  • Provides guidelines and oversees management of Human Resources activities such as recruitment an! d retention, new hire orientation, succession planning, performance rev! iew, benefits administration, training, employee relations and salary administration.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge of industry and related Human Resources issues to assure Company’s compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources. Serves as a collaborative resource for the Company’s management and employees by keeping abreast of trends, issues and
  • Analyzes trends in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations and formal complaints to determine action needed to enhance favorable and adjust unfavorable trends.
  • Monitors, manages and delivers training for employees and supervisors; provides succession planning to management, and assures the effectiveness of career path and retention programs to achieve business strategies.
  • May visit site locations to conduct employee interviews or meetings to assess current work environment; addresses questions or issues, investigates employ! ee complaints and facilities resolution.
  • Oversees, participates in and approves the interviewing, hiring, and training of departmental employees. Conducts performance evaluation for direct reports and assists direct report managers and supervisors with performance evaluation process. Provides coaching and assistance in the areas of disciplinary action, problem resolution and work assignment delegation.
  • Develops and monitors status of Human Resources budgets.
  • Assures Company’s compliance with federal, state and local laws, as well as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Affirmative Action obligations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge of:
Federal and State laws, rules and regulations related to Human Resources administration, employee relations, occupational health and safety, worker’s compensation and related principles and practices.

  • Principles and practices o! f budget preparation and administration.
  • Supervision and train! ing practices and methods.
  • Business, personal computer hardware and software and Human Resources Information System applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices and processes in a global environment.
Experience with and knowledge in Lominger competency tools and products are highly preferred.

  • Human Resources Information Systems applications. Knowledge of Workday is highly preferred.
  • Recruiting, interviewing and selecting applicants in accordance with established employment practices and methods. Knowledge of Kinexa ATS is highly preferred.
  • Current Company policies, practices and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
Skill In:
Developing and implementing goals, objectives and practices for effective, efficient and cost effective management of allocated resources.

  • Responding to inquiries and complaints from management, employees, ! public groups and regulatory agencies.
  • Preparing and administering department budgets.
  • Formulating and administering personnel policies, practices and procedures.
  • Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Managing multiple projects, duties and assignments
  • Interpreting and applying Federal, state and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Supervising, coordinating and delegating assignments, and reviewing the work of assigned department personnel.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of data.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or related field from an accredited college or university, and eight (8) to ten (10) years human resources management experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical industry environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
