The primary responsibility of the Digital Communication Specialist is to assist the Director of Marketing and Membership in completing day-to-day tasks and executing both internal and external focused campaign and communication tactics.
The Digital Communication Specialist will:
- Edit and write marketing material including reports, presentations, newsletters, emails, event descriptions and public releases.
- Serve as the server administrator and contact for technical and social media vendors (i.e., I.T., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others).

Maintain and update web pages on websites for Lakewood Yacht Club and all subsidiaries.
- Write online content that includes blogs and directories.
- Manage social media accounts.
- Attend events at Lakewood and offsite to take photos, gather information and write about event for blogs, press releases and social media posts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience preferably in Marketing, Communication, Web Design or Public Relations
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficient photography skills
- Strong knowledge of SEO, website development, social media and content marketing
- Strong interpersonal skills - must be a team player with the ability to take initiative, work independently and network effectively with LYC staff and members
- An analytical mind with the capacity to evaluate and tweak approaches based on a comprehensive understanding of Lakewood Yacht Club's goals
- Strong project management skills - ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects with multiple priorities in a rapidly growing environment
- Strong research, writing and verbal communication skills - must be able to comprehend and communicate the Lakewood Yacht Club brand
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Proficient in Associated Press Style of writing
Work Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (These are the standard working hours for this position; however, on occasion, you may be expected to work extended hours or on a day that you are not regularly scheduled.)
