Summary:
The Counter Surveillance/Court Intrusion Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining the safety & security of all employees, guests and others while collaborating closely with all law enforcement and other security personnel present at Fiserv Forum during events. The ideal candidate will also have to develop and maintain continued working relationships with law enforcement and other specialized security personnel that are assigned to Fiserv Forum events.
Responsibilities:
- Study event details and outlines to construct daily briefing sheets; participate in pre- and post-event safety briefings with assigned local law enforcement and other security staff.
- Respond to law enforcement, security and other guest service situations that arise during event such as disturbances, threats, medical emergencies, crimes etc.; operate two-way radio transmitting and receiving information to/from Security staff.
- Routinely patrol and survey the Plaza, arena and special areas of concern to assess for problems and safety conditions.
- Coordinate efforts and collaborate with any special law enforcement agencies (FBI, Sheriff, NBA Security Reps, Bucks Security Director, Special Security Reps etc.) on site on as-needed basis.
- Be available for any special assignments such as escorts or maintaining security for VIP’s, dignitaries, high ranking Government Officials, NBA Executives, and Bucks Executives.
- Patrol and survey areas with law enforcement and other Fiserv Forum security staff to trouble shoot and maintain areas where any large community, school or other groups may be in a certain section for an event; anticipate potential problems with unruly, inebriated guests, any criminal activity, and medical emergencies.
- Be available to follow-up and/or investigate complaints or problems that may arise out of disturbances or other situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At time of application, must be employed as a full-time law enforcement officer with minimum of 2 years law enforcement experience.
- Hold current certification with Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board.
- Experience in the daily security operations of a sports venue or similar public assembly facilities is a plus!
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as decided by the event calendar.
Technical
- Excellent observational and verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and gather information specifically associated with real or potential threats, suspicious or unusual behavior.
- Operate in plain clothes, covert role to detect suspicious or unusual behavior directed toward guests, staff, or company property.
- Respond in a tactical security role during the event of an incident or crisis.
- Complete emergency response and evacuation procedures as directed.
- Prepare suspicious activity or security related incident reports.
- Training in handling aggressive behavior, de-escalating situations.
- Ability to accurately interpret and select from a wide variety of security and safety regulations and laws to resolve minor problems and blocking issues.
- Training in restraint in combative and knowledge of verbal and physical de-escalation, use of force continuum and arrest laws.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Communication/Interpersonal
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to operate a two-way radio.
- Ability to respond to with a sense of urgency to all emergency situations in a calm and professional manor.
- Capable of investigating and detailing all incidents and accidents on property, which includes interviewing witnesses and preparing incident reports.
- Ability to make decisions and act independently without direct supervision when making enforcement decisions and in meeting emergencies.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
