SUMMARY PARAGRAPH OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Receiving Technician I is responsible for Lab Pack Coding/Processing or Drum Receiving/Coding.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- If performing specialization in Lab Pack Coding/Processing; Receives all lab pack containers and properly codes all chemicals for disposal processing; Performs consolidation of lab packs for final disposal as needed; Completes all paperwork associated with consolidation process; Manages or oversees cylinders in/out of facilities; Performs lab pack bulking operations when needed; Manages and consolidates lab pack reactive materials for ultimate disposal; Performs lab pack systems operations through WIN.
- If performing specialization in Drum Receiving/Coding Operations; Samples all incoming drums and performs basic analysis of samples following prescribed procedures; Calibrates and utilizes lab instrumentation required to run basic analysis; Completes all paperwork associated with analysis and drum sampling; Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines; Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures; Assures all drums are properly final coded for routing and billing according to CHI protocol; Assure all drums are assigned proper disposal process and/or outbound profile; Responsible for knowledge of WIN system applicable to receiving, routing and billing of drums.
- Reviews all applicable labpack/receiving/shipping SOPs, annually, and scores a satisfactory score on SOP quizzes.
- Responsibility for supply management in their area of responsibility, including proper housekeeping and best management practices.
- Responsible for adherence to all applicable CHES policies and CHES SOPs
- Maintains a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all applicable company Health & Safety and Compliance protocols.
- Performs job functions in compliance with the company standard: Clean Compliance
- Actively participates in the training of the Warehouse Operator
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
High School diploma or equivalency.
EXPERIENCE
Definition
Knowledge of CHES systems.
Knowledge in facility specific Waste Analysis Plans.
REQUIRED LICENSE(S)/ENDORSEMENT(S)
- 24 or 40 hour OSHA training and annual updates.
- DOT training.
- Forklift certification.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Ability to take direction.
- Good communication skills.
- Initiative.
- Climb on and off forklifts
- Lifting up to 50 lbs from the ground to your waist
- Climb up and down vertical ladders
- Capable of reaching out, over and down exerting a force
- 20/20 eyesight corrected or uncorrected - depth perception is critical
- 10 pushups, deep knee squats and sit-ups (to determine if fit)
- Good hand/eye coordination
