Collect and record gas, rock dust, and coal lab analysis data. Analyze gas chromatographs and coal quality trends and perform predictive forecasting of mine gas character and coal grade. Enter accurate! and timely gas, rock dust, and coal lab analysis data along w! ith related data such as water readings, GVB trailer sample/inspection data and tube bundle information into relevant systems. Identify and communicate safety issues related to mine gases and their impact on underground operations. Rotate responsibilities within the team, between gas and coal product analysis, while maintaining high standards.
Associates degree, experience in a laboratory or technology-intensive environment. MSHA gas card or be qualified to test within six months. Excellent MS Office Suite skills, including Word, Excel and Access. Mechanical problem-solving abilities and an understanding of scientific methods and quality control. Ability to complete tasks on time and work in a team environment. Ability to work overtime, weekends and rotating shifts on short notice as well as the ability to work in varying environments (temperature range, dust and adverse weather conditions). Preferred: Bachelor of Science and MSHA electrical certificate highly desirable! . Chromatograph experience also highly desirable. GSAP experience preferred.
