Description: Ameritech College is employing RN-BSN ADJUNCT ONLINE NURSING FACULTY right now, this position will be placed in Utah. REPORTS TO: Primary: Online Nursing Program Director Secondary: Nursing Program Director Department: Academics/EducationJOB SUMMARY: The job of online/adjunct faculty members at Am! eritech has three dimensions or roles. The primary role is Teaching, the other roles include Service and Professional Scholarship. Online faculty will be assigned to specific courses in the RN to BSN program based on enrollment and student need. Adjunct faculty will provide their availability to teach on a term to term basis.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duties (essential functions) and responsibilities of faculty members at Ameritech College are as summarized below: Teaching 1.Student Focused/Student Centered Approach: a.Interact in a fair and impartial way with students.

b. Support and assess student academic achievement. c.Counsel students within the field of nursing, and uphold the regulations of Ameritech College. d.Motivate students to further their education and professional development.

2.Instructional Excellence: a.Follow the academic course syllabus for assigned courses. b.Ensure that course is accurate and ready prior to stude! nt activity and schedule course start date, report problems to! Program Director.c.Present course material in a manner that will interest and motivate students.d.Effectively utilize class materials and interactive live sessions. e.Prepare and effectively explain homework, projects and tests. f.Maintain class as a safe learning environment in a respectful and inclusive manner.

g.Encourage student input and analytical thought.h.Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner (within 48 hours)i.Promptly return graded student work within 7 days of submission.j.Effectively use instructional techniques. k.Satisfy course learning objectives. l.Participate in course through announcements, discussion posts, live chat sessions and lectures at least 4 days per week. Service1.Administrative: a.Enforce the college rules as published in the Student Handbook and Ameritech Catalog b.Report class attendance in accordance with the college policy and procedure.

c.Confer with Program Director or Student Advisor when students are non-resp! onsive or absent from class. d. Submit grades and records accurately and promptly in accordance with the college grading policy and procedure. e.Report any course or college-related problems to the Program Director.

2.Professional: a.Serve on academic committee(s) (e.g., Curriculum, Annual Program Evaluation, and Student Organization as assigned.b.Actively participate in online college activities. c.Attend meetings and classes on time. d.Cooperate with all faculty and staff. e.Adapt to course assignments and scheduling needs.

f.Participate when needed curriculum and faculty development activities.Scholarship 1.Professional and Personal Development in Teaching Discipline a.Remain current in the Nursing education/practice discipline through: i.Regular interaction with nursing and healthcare professionals through advisory boards, site visits or other structured contact.ii.Participation in professional associations and societies, iii.Active reading and ! study in nursing, iv.Participation in professional conferences, prefera! ble as a presenter, and/or,v.Completion of professional seminars or continuing education courses in the teaching discipline.2.Scholarship of Teachinga.Study the art and science of teaching through reading and/ or course work. b.Complete professional development activities in accordance with the college's professional development policy and the individual faculty member's professional development plan as outlined by the Program Director. c.Experiment with various teaching methods and share the results with colleagues.Other Duties: Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS: Education: Preferred terminal degrees - PhD, DNP, DNSc. Minimum level of education is a Masters degree.MS in Nursing from an accredited program.Experience: Prior nursing education experience online or on-ground.

Experience with online education is preferred. Active RN license in at least one US State. Physical requirements: Physical requirements may require sitting and/or standing for several hours a! t a time, lifting, bending, squatting, hearing, seeing, speaking, use of hands and fingers.Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates appropriate presentation, speaking and writing skills.Demonstrates appropriate use of written materials, visual aids and electronic audiovisual media to supplement instruction.Ability to teach concepts effectively and for extended periods of time on a daily basis.Demonstrates effective counseling and reflective listening skills.Require computer proficiency in MS Word and/or WordPerfect. Working knowledge of Excel and Power Point helpful.Personal character traits that would be needed to succeed.Ability to work remotely and independently is essential.Organized, forward thinking, reliable, self-starter, able to work in a team environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1.The position of Online/Adjunct Nursing Faculty is paid through a contracted teaching agreement based upon the number of courses, credit hours per course and sections being taught ! per semester or term. Continued employment is not guaranteed at the com! pletion of the teaching agreement. A new agreement is entered into for every semester or term taught. 2.Additionally, if a faculty member is not completing the essential duties and functions of the job, they may be dismissed immediately with no obligation to continue with the teaching agreement and the associated pay will be prorated according to the time completed at the time of termination.3.Online/Adjunct Faculty will be limited to no more than two courses per semester, which is considered a part time schedule for purposes of pay and benefits.4.Employment with Ameritech College is "at will" and employment may be terminated at any time with or without cause and without notice where state law allows.
