Food and Beverage Manager

Location: Brian Head Utah

Description: Brian Head Resort is presently looking of Food and Beverage Manager right now, this job will be placed in Utah. Further informations about this job opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. Manage and lead a Winter Sports Resort's restaurants and bars as an independently profitable department.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop product and service standards ! that are in-line with the Resort's target markets.

2. Ensure all operating standards comply with Resort policies, health and fire standards, and Utah State liquor rules and regulations.

3. Maintain 100% understanding of and accountability for department financial performance. The F&B Manager's success is measured by improved departmental profitability based on increased long-term food and beverage sales and reduced departmental expenses.

4. Provide recommendations to Resort Management team regarding future plans and changes.

5. Work in conjunction with the Resort's Human Resource department to recruit, hire, train, mentor, and sustain the best employees who in turn can exceed the guests' expectations.

6. Plan training programs for the F&B staff.

7. Instill continuous safety consciousness.

8. Work with other departments to solve cleaning and maintenance problems.

9. Understand job description of all posi! tions in F&B department, and capable of performing all require! d tasks.

10. Provide good quality products and presentation.

11. Develop and maintain an effective program to control quality, cost of sale, portion control and inventory loss.

12. Thorough knowledge of bartending practices, policies and controls.

13. Follow control procedures in F&B cashiering. Work with revenue auditors and cashiers to ensure accurate transactions.

14. Understand economic order points for food and beverage inventories. Oversee and promote effective warehousing procedures.

15. Implement cost saving procedures in controlling labor, utilities, and other operating costs.

16. Monitor and analyze menus and products of competitive restaurants.

17. Work with other Resort staff to conceive, plan, and implement parties, events and banquets.

18. Lead by example to raise department's morale, integrity, and quality.

Administrative Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maint! ain optimized manpower levels in accordance with precedence and anticipated business volumes.

2. Ensure accurate department payroll. Administer personnel action on leave and overtime requests, disciplinary action, and commendation.

3. Identify and solve problems in the F&B department in a professional manner.

4. Ensure 100% compliance with Resort uniform and grooming policies.

5. Ensure all F&B employees are counseled and evaluated.

Qualifications:
1. Five plus years experience as manager of a full service restaurant and bar.

2. Expertise in budgeting, labor, food costs, expenses and forecasting capital expenditure requirements.

3. Possess overall knowledge of food and beverage preparation and presentation.

4. Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred.

5. Organizational skills sufficient to function effectively with attention to detail while meeting estab! lished deadlines.

6. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Off! ice applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.).

7. Ability to work in a fast-paced and somewhat stressful environment.

8. Maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees, and outside contractors while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

9. Willingness to travel when representing the Resort.

10. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

11. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in oral and written form.

12. Possess excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

13. Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance adhering to Resort standards.

14. Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
