Enhanced Registrar - On Call

Location: Saint George Utah

Description: Intermountain Home Care is currently interviewing Enhanced Registrar - On Call right now, this position will be placed in Utah. The Pre-Registration Specialist is often the first communications our patients receive with before their arrival to the hospital. These conversations are crucial! to creating a positive experience. By providing exceptional customer service, the registrar helps the patient feel comfortable and at ease as they accurately collect patient data and obtain all necessary demographic, financial, and clinical information. They articulate billing process information and discuss insurance benefits, cost estimates and identify financial assistance resources if needed. They direct the patient to the care area and identify potential wait times if any. By providing complete and accurate information, the patient stays informed and knows what to expect during their hospital visit. Pre-Registration Specialists impact patient's lives every day and truly make a difference to those they serve.

Minimum Requirements

Intermediate Computer Skills, including keyboarding 30 WPM (words per minute) and ability to navigate computer programs

Three or more years of customer service experience

Previous experience in collections o! r negotiating payments highly preferred

Ability to co! mmunicate effectively both orally and in writing

Ability to work effectively in time sensitive situations, prioritize multiple tasks, and ability to make prompt, responsible decisions

Physical Requirements

Hearing/Listening, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Speaking

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish including translation

One or more years Call Center Experience or one or more years experience as a Registrar in a patient care environment

One or more years admitting, billing, collection, and/or insurance verification experience

Basic Knowledge of ICD-9

Basic Knowledge of CPT Codes

Medical Terminology Certification

Previous experience using Tandem or AS400 programs
