Event Production Manager

Location: Salt Lake City Utah

Manages and coordinates event production and other event aspects and projects, both large and small.

Essential Functions

• Manages or coordinate! s AV, stage sets, floor plans, production schedules, exhibits, displays, entertainment, and other aspects of events
• Manages key vendors such as AV companies, Exhibition companies, etc.
• Interfaces with event director, creative/production team, venues, vendors and onsite crew
• Manages budgets, vendor quotes/billing, actual costs and compares budget to actual.
• Manages, coordinates, conducts research on various projects that are event related
• Works on events and projects that are both small and large, mostly from the beginning planning phases to post-event follow up

Additional Job Functions

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Understands and adhere to GMP policies and procedures.
• Some travel
• Some weekend work and long hours at certain times

Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requirements

• Exceptional organization skills (this is t! he key attribute for this position)
• Detail-oriented
• Ability and willingness to work alone, with a group and/or be supervised depending on the event
• Professionalism
• Excellent communication skills
• Event/production knowledge & experience in coordinating AV, stage sets, floor plans, or related
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 2+ years experience in event planning, management or production. Limited-experience candidates may still be considered.
• Computer software (spreadsheet, graphic design, floor plan, etc) and general technology

Essential Physical Requirements

• The job involves heavy physical effort involving frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of the equivalent of 50 pounds of force, while occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds.

• Microsoft Office, various design and event-related programs

Typical Environmental Conditions

• Most of time is spent in office work, but significant time is spent at vendors, venues, and onsite at the event.
