The Cargo Call Center Agent handles all facets of work associated with incoming customer cargo calls, including booking, tracking, and tracing cargo. The Agent's primary function is to build revenue for Delta Air Lines by providing information regarding schedules and rates, selling space for cargo, resolving customer problems, and tracking and tracing freight and records transactions by using computer programs at the agent's set.
The starting pay is $16.55 per hour. Additional pay increases occur regularly through 10.5 years.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Maximize revenue opportunities for specialty cargo shipments including, but not limited to human remain shipments and associated passenger travel.
- Supports Delta Cargo com's internal and external customers by resolving matters related to content, functional issues, and minor technical issues by phone and by email.
- Provide sales and customer service to Delta Cargo customers and favorably portray the airline in all dealings with the public.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all policies and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.

- Must possess a high school diploma.
- Should be at least 18 years of age and possess an excellent speaking voice and vocabulary.
- Must satisfactorily complete tests (assessments) which are structured to determine ability to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Must be able to successfully pass training to use the computer and learn information needed for the job.
- Must be and/or learn to be knowledgeable about flight information, aircraft types, cargo containers, weight and dimensions, customer service, airline tariffs, customs regulations, pricing programs and methods of payment for cargo transport.
- Must be able to work AM/PM shifts and/or weekends and holidays.
- This position requires a friendly, professional, and helpful image via the telephone.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Prefer two years of college and/or previous public contact work experience.
- Cargo or freight goods acceptance experience at Delta or another company.
- Formal training and experience in using WebVision - the Delta Cargo technology .program used to book, track, monitor and update cargo shipments worldwide.
- Cargo experience and/or call center experience within the last two years is highly desirable.
- Fluency in a second language is a plus.
