The successful candidate will be assigned the role of Project Manager or Senior Engineer for company projects commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility and accountability of natural gas transmission pipeline, compression and measurement projects. Specific duties and project assignments will vary slightly depending on the area of engineering discipline of the chosen candidate. The candidate will have responsibility for the project from initiation and planning through detailed design, procurement, land acquisition, environmental permitting, construction and project closure.
Project management activities include thorough project planning; establishing & controlling scope and schedule, leading cross-functional, remote teams, identifying, quantifying & managing project risk; assisting in the development of contract documents for all goods & services required for projects; coordinating project activities according to schedule; analyzing project performance against baseline (scope, schedule and budget); implementing proper project controls to complete projects on schedule & within budget. The candidate must be able to handle a diverse range of assignments from basic to complex.
Projects range from facility modifications to development of new projects. The candidate must consistently deliver quality results for projects or programs in a timely and economical manner and have the ability to manage projects using internal and external resources. Candidate must be familiar with and adhere to industry standards, Williams Gas Pipeline standards and procedures, FERC, PHMSA/DOT Part 192, and other applicable codes and standards.
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
Ten (10) years project management and/or engineering design experience on natural gas transmission pipeline facilities.
Extensive project management and/or design experience (5+ years) on capital projects or programs.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities of both formal and informal teams.
Strong pipeline design and analysis skills.
knowledge of Pipeline Safety codes and regulations.
Ability to lead teams and mentor, train and develop engineers.
Demonstrated experience being a safety leader in the workplace.
The ability to manage multiple complex projects with a high level of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of project scheduling and cost estimating/forecasting is required.
Proficient in verbal and written communication.
Proficient in giving presentations and negotiation.
Must be able to work independently under minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in team environment under a matrix organization structure.
Must be results focused and self-motivated.
Preferred
Professional Engineering license.
Project Management Professional certification.
