LOGISTICS LEAD

The position of Logistics lead is responsible to help the department Supervisor and/or Manager with the daily operations of the PAML Logistics department and to ensure that all set department and company polices and procedures are followed! at all times. This position also helps to support the needs of the department staff to be fully trained, to help encourage growth, create a positive atmosphere and simplify all functions of the department.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with and assist Department Supervisor.
Provide backup coverage during times of staffing shortages.
Complete and update the department cross training matrix including utility, temporary and regular employees.
Disseminate information effectively through written and verbal communication.
Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations.
Maintain preventative maintenance and disposition on logistics fleet.
Assist with developing and or posting staff scheduling completely and timely.
Ability to operate multiple PC based programs and telephones used by PAML.
Ability to operate technology used by couriers and on road phlebotomists such as two way phones, poc! ket PCâs and handheld scanners.
Staff development a! nd quality service assurance.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to multitask and demonstrate skill in workload prioritization
Strong organizational skills and knowledge of fleet management
Ability to collect statistical data and report in a concise and easy to interpret manner
Demonstrate ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment in decision making with minimal supervision
Maintain a high level of quality and productivity in a demanding work environment
Ability to lift 50lbs
Flexible hours, must be able to work varied shifts and days depending on staffing needs
Experience in courier/driver management
Experience with MS Office products, e-mail, ect
Ability to troubleshoot reported Logistics issues and communicate! to staff, Supervisor and Manager as needed
Preferred education, skills or experience
Previous logistics or laboratory experience
Two years internal courier experience
