Position
Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for development and
implementation of multiple projects from initial development through final
implementation. The Pro! ject Manager
works cross-functionally with programming, manufacturing, and supply chain to
provide robust manufacturing requirements that meet the customer needs. The Project Manager will work with these
groups to improve current process and identify improvement potentials for new
product.
Key Roles
and Responsibilities:
Technical:
·
New product development, layout the
manufacturing process/plan incorporating all aspects of product design
criteria.
·
Improvement activity lead for engineering and
manufacturing â" leads improvement activities across facility, and assists and
directs other employees on their improvement activities.
·
Identify, assess, and participate in
continuous improvement opportunities using proven technical engineering/improvement
tools and programs.
·
Prepare quotes for sales as requested. Quotes must include part entry, proper ! method
of manufacturing creation and coordination with sch! eduling for lead time prior
to release. Providing quote requirements to all groups involved.
·
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis/coordination
of analysis with engineering on new & existing orders.
·
Improving existing operations, incorporating
new methods and processes.
·
Investigating operational problems affecting
production and dealing with them in a systematic, methodical manner.
·
Fluent in corporate MRP ( Epicor )
for IMDS .
·
Preparing/coordinating manufacturing
documentation required for product manufacturing.
·
Provide manufacturing data for project
tracking, improvement and accountability.
·
Understanding and analyzing graphs and
statistics and other complex information.
·
Giving presentations to engineers and colleagues
in other departments.
·
Liaising with suppliers and customers.

Workings with regulatory bodies to ensure
safety, environmental and design standards are met.
Leadership:
·
Provides mentoring to other Project Managers
within engineering.
·
Effectively coordinate resources within all internal
and external groups to accommodate production schedules, manage project plans
and ensure appropriate communication.
·
Lead and/or participate in pre-production
planning and post-production assessment processes.
Communication:
·
Maintain effective communication with
internal stakeholders regarding status, timing and production or manufacturing
issues impacting the project.
·
Communicate with others throughout the
organization to provide regular updates
·
Communicate with customers relaying timing
and potential setbacks to manufacturing in a timely manner and work through
potential opportunities for impro! vement
Requirements
·
Bachelorâs degree in Mec! hanical,
Manufacturing or other related Engineering disciplines (Masterâs degree
preferred). Three to seven yearsâ experience as a Project Manager or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
·
In Depth knowledge of manufacturing processed
such as CNC milling/turning and secondary operations such as but not limited to
burring, blasting and passivation
·
Disciplined in cad software, expert in use of
Solid-works.
·
Working knowledge of Quality analytics tools
including but not limited to SPC, FMEA, PFMEA preferred.
·
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
·
Advance communication skills and ability to
communicate through all levels of the organization. Past experience with
customer communication is desirable
·
Ability to read and interpret complex
blueprints.

Excellent knowledge of GD&T.
·
ASQ certification and PE (Professional
Engineer) certifications are desirable.
Language
Skills: Excellent communication skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific
and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to
common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members
of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to
prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, manufacturing
employees, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical
concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to
such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of t! est reliability and
validity, analysis of variance, correlation tec! hniques, sampling theory, and
factor analysis.
Reasoning
Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect
data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
