Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Chief Compliance Officer and within the framework of the Compliance Management Program, and in collaboration with the ! CIT Group, Inc. Compliance Team, the incumbent will have responsibility for oversight of CIT Bank's Retail Bank Compliance Program Administration. This officer will demonstrate clear communication, thorough analysis, sound judgment and the ability to work both independently and as a member of both direct and matrixed teams. The primary objective is to ensure that the Retail Bank Business Unit maintains a strong, effective and sustainable Compliance Management Program. This fosters stability, integrity and efficiency within the Program. Partnership with leadership and staff at the Bank, affiliate and non-affiliate service providers and the ability to collaboratively liaise with internal stakeholders are critical to success.

- Conduct ongoing Risk Assessment of Retail Bank products; identify risk and controls; develop control narratives to document risk and control considerations.
- Execute periodic control assurance exercises to ensure! completeness and accuracy of risk and control inventory and conclude their existence and functionality.
- Maintain advertising review procedures; execute and document reviews of advertising materials related to Retail Bank products and services, offered through various media, prior to publication, to ensure compliance with applicaable statutes and regulations.
- Develop self-monitoring processes and procedures for use by Retail Bank Management and periodically validate the results of Retail Bank self-monitoring activities.
- Maintain Retail Bank Compliance Plan Dashboard and Progress tracker to provide Bank and Compliance management with a current view of the state of compliance risk and activities related to the Retail Bank Compliance Plan.
- Advise Retail Bank Management of changes to applicable statutes and regulations as well as changes to product and service offerings, identify impacts and ensure timely implementation of process and procedu! re revisions to ensure ongoing compliance for Retail Bank.
- Dev! elop and ensure incorporation of relevant compliance content in Retail Bank operating procedures.
- Create, revise and deliver compliance-related training content for customer-facing personnel of the Retail Bank and its service providers.
- Develop and oversee the execution of action plans associated with remediating compliance gaps and weaknesses in the Retail Bank observed during regulatory examinations, internal audits, compliance testing engagements or self-identified by Compliance/Operations Management.
- Coordinate the research of issues related to consumer complaints and regulatory inquiries regarding Retail Bank products and collaborate with the Complaints Coordinator to develop responses to consumers and agencies.
- Produce reporting for Retail Bank Management to advise on compliance for regularly scheduled management meetings and otherwise as needed.
This person is responsible for managemen! t of CIT Bank core program elements as described above and will work closely with the CIT Bank management team, CIT Group Compliance Teams, Human Resources, Law and others. The Officer will provide in-depth coordination and project management for high-priority initiatives relating to compliance with various laws and regulations.
Minimum Skills and Experience:
Proven track record of successful banking industry compliance program management.
5+ years work experience in compliance with meaningful experience consumer protection laws and regulations
Undergraduate degree or comparable work experience required
Highly detailed and organized and able to deliver high quality work product, including executive-level written and oral reports.
Well-developed critical thinking skills, including sound judgment, conflict resolution and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to both act as an enthusiasti! c team member and efficiently/effectively facilitate projects in a high! ly matrixed environment.
