The primary focus of this role is to educate and promote client products to consumers in pet retail establishments.
Duties and Responsibilities -
- Edu! cate customers and help them make good choices for their pets’ needs
- Approach customers and engage them in conversations regarding vendors’ products
- Maintain a working knowledge of a variety of vendors’ products
- Partner with store associates to ensure that the vendors’ sales grow
- Educate store associates regarding vendors’ products
- May distribute coupons or other promotional material to interested shoppers
- Complete store sets and resets as needed and assist with new store set up
- Execute plan-o-grams and conduct inventory audits
- Ensure manufacturers' products are presented in the best way possible to maximize visibility and increase overall sales by sorting, straightening and repositioning all products in various weights and sizes
- Ensure timely completion of projects, events, and monthly store objectives such as rotating stock; reporting out-of-stock items; repairing merchandise packag! ing; remove merchandise from shipping containers or boxes !
- Process vendor returns
- Complete all assigned tasks on time and in its entirety
Required:
- Must have a current valid driver’s license and minimum state mandated insurance coverage
- Able to customize dialogue to meet pet owners' needs and questions; and incorporate key product information into shopper interactions
- Willing to engage and educate pet owner consumers with varying product knowledge
- Willing and able to promote and sell the product being demonstrated
- Works independently with little supervision
- Self-confident when speaking in public and has excellent communication skills
- Committed to scheduling bulk of work Saturday or Sunday. Additional days may also be scheduled during the week as needed for specific store activities. Hours will be 4 - 16 hours each month.
- Ability to communicate effectively with manufacturers, through internal resour! ces, regarding problems and concerns with products or services
- Access to the Internet, be computer literate, and have experience with online reporting
- No visible tattoos or facial piercings
- Must be able to stand for up to four hours; have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion; and be able to bend, squat, and reach over your shoulder
- Ability to bend and lift products off retail shelves
- Must be comfortable around animals
- Knowledgeable about general merchandising principles
