Location: Murray Utah

Description: Intermountain Healthcare is currently interviewing Clinical Document Specialist right now, this career will be placed in Utah. The Clinical Document Specialist (CDS) is a key resource for physicians and their department staff regarding clinical documentation. The CDS works to enhance the quality of physician’s c! linical documentation to ensure that patients are accurately treated and billed for their treatments. The CDS is responsible for reviewing patient medical records daily to identify potential gaps in physician documentation. This position interacts extensively with physicians, nursing staff, and other patient care providers in conjunction with Health Information Management coding staff to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and reflects the level of service provided to the patient. The CDS educates all members of the patient care team on documentation guidelines using the Clinical Documentation Management Program (CDMP) on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Requirements
!
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited i! nstitution. Intermountain verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.

Registered Nurse (RN) License in state of practice

Two or more years clinical experience

Experience with pathophysiology and disease processes

Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements

Hearing/Listening, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Speaking

Preferred Qualifications

Clinical experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), or intermediate care

Experience with Medicare Part A and B

Experience in CDMP documentation strategies
