In this role, you! will be an active participant in activities that will make a direct impact on detecting and preventing fraud within the online, phone and mobile channels, key to the future success of the Digital Channels Group and Wells Fargo!

As a Financial Crimes Phone Specialist you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while handling incoming calls from Wells Fargo customers with potential fraud circumstances. While talking to customers you will examine activity on accounts, review intricate scenarios to determine the source of compromise, then take the appropriate action.

You will authenticate the identity of inbound customer calls and review, verify and/or identify customer transactions to detect/prevent financial crime activities, policy violations, and suspicious situations in order to mitigate risk and/or recover losses. You will use a variety of sources for information, including online systems and tools, to conduct customer interviews ! and to research moderate to complex account activity that may involve multiple transaction channels. You will perform general account handling functions such as close account determination, holds, restraints, etc., document research findings and actions on cases, create fraud claims, and network with supporting departments to create a seamless experience for the customers.

The Financial Crimes Specialist 2 position will begin February 3, 2014

We are hiring for the following shifts:
Mon. Fri., 1:30 - 10pm, Wed. - Sat., 7 am - 5:30 pm, or Tues. - Fri., 10:45 am- 7:15 pm, Sat. 9 am- 5:30 pm. With no wrap weekends, and no split schedules (all working days will be consecutive). There will be no exceptions.

Training: Feb. 3 - Mar. 14, Mon. - Fri., 10 am - 7 pm

Must be flexible to work some overtime and holidays depending upon business needs

Basic Qualifications

1+ years experience in financial services! , fraud, investigations, BSA/AML, or criminal justice or a 2 year degre! e in Criminal Justice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of customer service experience with a minimum of 2 years in a fast paced challenging and productive call center or customer telephone experience.
  • Financial Industry experience with knowledge of banking products and services, especially online banking.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and review and navigate multiple computer systems along with the internet while talking to customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, elicit information efficiently, comprehend and resolve complex customer issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to adapt to a high pace ever changing work environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
Preferred Skills

  • Retail banking experience at the store level.
  • Experience with fraud schemes/detection.
  • Experience handling customer fraud claims.
  • Knowledge of online banking/bill pay or financial service processes
