Appen seeks to mobilize a panel of experts to support the annotation and development of datasets. The dataset is composed of video data featuring a range of skilled individuals performing a set of physical and procedural tasks around the world. The project is composed of video data featuring a range of skilled individuals performing a set of physical and procedural tasks around the world. These tasks are captured in the first-person (egocentric) and third-person (exocentric) perspective. We seek experts to review the video files, provide performance commentary, help form task graphs and taxonomies of each specialized task, and work to develop and label proficiency estimates of the camera-wearers and each demonstration. This work requires Music Expertise; effective communication; teaching experience; and commitment to the project—expert contributions to support fundamental AI research in the advancement of skills transfer and education.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the research team to produce comprehensive verbal and written task graphs describing culinary actions. A task graph is a representation of each task, their dependencies and workflow, and process.
- Review draft procedural documents that outline culinary procedural activities and adapt for accuracy.
- Provide Written or verbal expert commentary time stamped across videos in the dataset — offering technical perspectives on the execution of tasks by the camera-wearer, tips, guidance, and other suggestions.
- Contribute culinary expertise to support researchers in developing a method to evaluate and rate culinary proficiency.
Requirement / Qualification:
- Music degree or certification
- Teaching or performance experience
- Membership in National Association for Music Education
- Experience teaching or creating how-to guides
