Community Relations Coordinator [United States]


 

Ardurra is seeking a Community Relations Coordinator to join our Mountain Region Community Relations (CR) practice in Phoenix, AZ.

Primary Function:

This role involves coordinating and communicating with various project teams, stakeholders, and the community. Responsibilities include strategizing and implementing engagement plans, documenting interactions, planning community events, and facilitating stakeholder meetings.

Primary Duties

  • Interact, communicate, and coordinate with Project Team, Design Team, Construction Team, client/agency staff, and members of the community.
  • Assist in strategizing and implementing public and stakeholder engagement, communication, and public engagement plans.
  • Document stakeholder communications and interactions through a stakeholder management system and other methods, e.g., written reports, spreadsheets
  • Assist in planning and implementing community engagement events and activities.
  • Coordinate, organize, manage, and facilitate formal and informal public meetings, hearings, open houses, focus groups, workshops, advisory committees, and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or related field, or equivalent working experience
  • 1 – 3 years of industry experience with infrastructure, transportation, or other complex projects
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with multiple levels within an organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and experience coordinating with team members and subconsultants

Preferred Experience

  • Bilingual (English, Spanish, other languages)
  • Development and execution of public engagement principles and strategies
  • Public agencies, stakeholder, property and business owner coordination
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Outlook).
