This important position reports to the Carrier Procurement and Operations Manager and is the critical link between XPO’s sales team, customers and carriers.
Responsibilities :!
- Book available freight in a cost effective m! anner:
o Schedule pick-up and delivery appointment times.
- Build carrier relationships:
- Build relationships with customer base:
o Communicate customer problems, leads, and inquiries to the sales reps.
o Quote customers on new lanes when requested.
- Communicate with regional capacity manager in the event of any issues.
- Recommend improvements and implement once approved.
- Properly document orders in the computer.
- When possible, pre-plan the use of carriers and equipment for efficiency.
- Dispatch drivers.
- Track/trace shipments when request! ed or time permits.
- Aid in P.O.D. retrieval.
- Understand and support the goals policies, and procedures of XPO Logistics.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information
- Exceptional customer service attitude and skills.
- High-energy, positive attitude.
- Organizational and scheduling skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn XPO’s TMS software.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED; four-year degree preferred.
- Work experience at a non-asset based logistics company.
