Essential functions include providing operations, maintenance and upgrades for emergency deployable communication systems in support of national emergencies and exercises for major events. Additional capabilities include engineering, design, integration, testing, training, delivery, maintenance and coordination of services to first response missions for state and local relief teams.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Unix Security Administrator will provide system security services to DISA DECC at Hill AFB, UT.

The administrator will coordinate with government client and contractor personnel to ensure system security posture is maintained and compliant with DoD and other standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor security logs for violations and unauthorized traffic; report and respond to incidents as required

Evaluate, prepare and load patches to enhance p! erformance, operations, and security

Support customer! problem resolution process to resolve errors in system software identified by DECC

Develop and present reports for solutions/findings; coordinate with client’s Task Manager on deliverables

Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed systems; conduct security evaluations, audits and reviews; prepare reports and recommendations based on findings

Ensure compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) directives for all UNIX assets

Facilitate the gathering, analysis, and preservation of evidence used in prosecution of computer crimes

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • REQUIRED: U.S. Citizen; CLEARANCE: TOP SECRET
  • 7 to 15 years of experience in systems administration, systems security, patch/configuration mgmt
  • Knowledge of interfaces between HP-! UX, Solaris, Linux, and AIX in the network infrastructure
  • Oracle knowledge in configuring/managing HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, AIX to support large databases
  • Familiarity with Information Assurance Officer Duties to perform as an alternate
  • Support UNIX security error diagnosis, testing strategies, and problem resolution
  • Experience with DISA STIG and UNIX SRR requirements
  • Network operations and troubleshooting skills
  • Professional certifications in UNIX systems and/or CISSP
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS

  • MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7
  • HP UX, Solaris, Linux, AIX, and other latest versions and flavors of UNIX
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

o Must be willing to work overtime, flexible hours, weekends and holidays, as necessary, to support client

o Office environment,! network lab environment, server rooms, customer IT equipment rooms
o Around 5% travel may be required to support offsite events/activities

o May occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
