Description
Mix and supply lubricant solutions, epoxy and lubricated wedges for the production areas. Maintain the mixing room and equipment. Process Mixing Room Work ord! ers. Must be flexible with hours for shift coverage and may be scheduled to be on call. Often required to work alone and without direct supervision. Must be self-sufficient and know when to call on support personnel such as those from QA, Facilities or Maintenance.
1. Utilize appropriate technical skills to effectively support production needs (equipment, chemistry, calibration, Good Laboratory Practices, etc.).
2. Evaluate and improve Mix room methods and procedures pertaining to HCFC, Heptane, solventless systems and other solutions.
3. Document mixing batch records and ensure accuracy of calculations and ingredient weights. Review batch documentation, reconcile materials, and resolve discrepancies.
4. Assist mix room associates in proper equipment changeovers, record keeping and daily Mix Room operations.
5. Maintain the Mix Room in a state of Good Manufacturing Policy compliance (records, training, labeling, batch records, et! c.) and work with team to maintain cleaning schedule for a cle! an Mix Room.
6. Work with production planners to maintain raw material inventories for use in the mixing operations to meet manufacturing schedules. Interface with production planners to create and complete work orders in a timely manner.
7. Verify raw material quantities, expiration dates, and lot numbers. Move materials from staging areas to the mixing room. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
8. Monitor the lubricant usage in the production areas.
9. Dispose of spent lubricant and epoxy as required in the SOPs.
10. Make suggestions for improving product quality and equipment; collaborate with management, engineering, technology, and other personnel on quality performance improvements as needed.
11. Maintain and perform routine checks on the equipment. Perform preventive maintenance tasks as required. Determine when to call maintenance.
12. Provide proper care of work area and equipment. Monitor equipment for l! eaks or malfunction.
13. Due to the fire and explosion hazard of working with Heptane, adherence to all policies and procedures is especially critical. Required to operate equipment that is designed for operation in a classified hazardous location and report any deviations from SOPs.
14. Work overtime as needed by the department.
15. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start-up, updating PVD boards, etc.
16. Continuously improve through the KAS program, meeting department goals for completed KAS.
17. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
18. Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
19. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Dipl! oma / GED required
Quality assurance related experience prefer! red with a AA Degree in Science (Chemistry related) or two years of experience mixing chemicals.
Effective written and oral communication skills (English), math skills, and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
