ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Prepare instruments, equipment and appropriate narcotics needed for surgical procedures. Clean and sterilize operating room and instruments after a plastics procedure in a timely manner. Creates a strong communication channel with office doctors in order to proactively and effectively service their needs. Effectively communicates pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients.
Observe and maintain compliance with all OSHA guidelines including hazard communication, MSDS, and PPE requirements. Performs a variety of administrative tasks such as chart documentation, completing consent paperwork, processing medical clearances when a nurse is not present, creating daily surgery assignments, daily 24 hour patient call back list, and verifies completion dai! ly. Assist and provide services requested/required by the surg! eon during a procedure while utilizing aseptic techniques. Applies proper post-operative dressings to patients with patient comfort in mind.
Masters techniques in suture removal. Works with all office staff to ensure that opportunities to understand and meet patients' current and future desires for procedures are maximized. May be cross-trained to fulfill the responsibilities of other team members. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Completion of a surgical technician program through an accredited school or equivalent military training is required. Surgical technician certification is preferred. Proven to be extremely reliable with minimal supervision. Ability to quickly establish rapport within all levels of the organization.
Current CPR and AED certification. Excellent communication of the English language (spoken and written). Possesses exceptional customer service skills and a motivating positive attitu! de. Able to discern when to make decisions in real-time vs.
when to seek approval; exercises sound decision making. Works well under pressure and does not waiver in working as a team. Comfortable asking for help when needed. Demonstrates a commitment to ethical conduct.
**Must be available to work a flexible 5 day work week, which will include some early mornings, early evenings and Saturdays. This is a month-long temporary position with the opportunity to go permanent given we find the right person.
