We seek an Engineering Journeyman to provide engineering support services to Government personnel at Hill AFB. He/she will be responsible for providing expertise to task orders assisting the Government in monitoring, planning, and executing the design and test process to ensure that the development efforts are meeting Government specifications
This position will provide conduct studies and analysis, which might include, but is not limited to, trade-off studies, requirements definition, feasibility analysis, development planning, analysis of alternatives, evaluation of alternative technical approaches, development planning, and/or preliminary program estimates..
Primary Job Responsibilities include:
Provide engineering expertise to technical and programmatic efforts across a broad spectrum of functional disciplines, in different Air Force organizations, to effectively assist in the design, development, modification, sustainment, or integration of systems. Represent the A-10 SPO at technical forums, including those conducted at Department of Defense (DoD) and subordinate command levels (i.e., Joint, HAF, MAJCOM, etc.), when directed, to discuss, review, validate, and assess the impact of new system requirements or technical issues that specifically affect the availability, performance, safety, interoperability, or capability of the A-10 weapon system Analyze system interfaces and protocol requirements and recommend ways to ensure seamless integration to the existing interfaces and architectures for the A/OA-10C plus determine the impacts of new subsystems to the existing aircraft systems which includes the aircraft wiring and structures. Work with other engineers, and A-10/DLA engineers on configuration baseline issues, duplicate/incorrect Engineering Orders (EOs), drawing deficiencies. Perform technical reviews for accuracy and determine if new dash number should supersede an old number, then create another number while staying with just that specific EO Provide engineering assessment of technical data baseline completeness and accuracy. Determine technical requirements, create, and update new drawings/documents. Assist in program milestone planning, tracking, scheduling, briefing preparation, staff coordination, and decision documentation preparation. Assist in the planning and management of development, production, deployment, and sustainment of systems and/or subsystems, and including identification of provisional spares and required support equipment
Essential Skills and Experience:
Possess good communications skills to including a broad experience base in writing and editing material for senior management level personnel and briefing or speaking in senior management level meetings and forums Excellent written and oral communications skills sufficient for senior management quality communications Plan, organize and conduct meetings, off-sites and program reviews Possess in depth knowledge of Microsoft Products, i.e., Power Point, Excel, and Word Must have at least 5 years in engineering support Must have bachelor's Degree in any Engineering field of study Must be able to pass background investigation U.S. Citizenship required
