Work within the Product Management team to define specific Product initiatives for Blue Coat. Product responsibilities will focus mainly on Blue Coat’s security Product lines.
The successful candidate will be a team player, be able to lead a Product team, define a winning Product strategy that meets customer and market requirements, and work closely with engineering, sales, marketing and our customers to bring Products successfully to market.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Develop and publish Product requirements for existing and new Products including detailed feature descriptions and customer usage scenarios
- Build relationships with customers, sales team and channel partners to understand customer and market requirements and environments.
- Work with engineering team to define release themes and corresponding Product deliverables. Drive Product from initial concept through development to timely and successful completion.
- Participate in engineering Product Functional Specifications reviews and provide detailed feedback on customer expectations.
- Work with program management on Product life cycle, Product End Of Sales/End Of Life, inventory analysis, pricing and margin analysis, and other program management activities.
- Work with the marketing team on positioning, Product introductions and launches.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years product management experience for security products.
- Must have broad and deep working knowledge and experience in network security technologies (e.g. firewall, proxies, web filtering, reporting, etc).
- Demonstrated knowledge of networking technologies required.
- Demonstrated experience in working with web applications and infrastructure required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of application security highly desired.
- Team player with strong leadership and communications skills required.
- Results oriented; is able to get things done and motivates others to action.
- Able to work across various organizations and with internal and external customers and channel partners.
- Must have strong presentation and writing skills, being articulate and enthusiastic.
- Some (25%) travel required, including international travel.
- Able to work independently on issues with diverse scope, analyzing various business elements and determining how to use various resources to meet goals.
