Network Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City Utah

Description: TEKsystems is currently interviewing Network Engineer right now, this position will be placed in Utah. For detail informations about this position opportunity please read the description below. Position Summary:
Manage the networks and associated equipment for ASP Engineering. They will be administering all Check Point firewalls (about 4-5 in 3 locations) and networking for the SLC data c! enter. They have 3 segregated data centers where they will be merging into one.

**A10 is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining 24/7 mission critical WAN
• Maintain mission critical Checkpoint infrastructure

o Management servers and appliances
o Nokia and Checkpoint branded firewall appliances

• Maintain and monitor Algosec security software
• Monitor, maintain and take action on Corero IDS appliance infrastructure
• Build, maintain, troubleshoot and monitor all aspects of the Cisco network infrastructure (Router, VPN, Firewalls)
• Configure and maintain A10 Load Balancing infrastructure
• Review security logs and take appropriate actions
• Update router configurations as necessary
• Coordinate installation and upgrades of ASP network nodes
• Work with Telco vendors and network providers
• Work closely with internal and extern! al customers to ensure highest possible network satisfaction
• Proactively monitor circuit uptimes and utilization (T1/T3 and up)
• Maintain knowledge of recent network security alerts and patches
• Maintain up to date documentation and diagrams of ASP network
• After hours and on call support when necessary
• Document network build into Microsoft Visio
• Ensure handbook and configuration form data is kept up to date
• Manage private and public IP address space
• Configure and maintain VPN tunnels
• Continuously improve network

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Managers with the implementation of new customers and new services for existing customers
• Develop process and procedures for new technologies implemented
• Review current processes and procedures for enhancements
• Assist other Senior Network engineers as required
• Assist other teams as necessary

Qualifications/Experience:

Minimum of 5 years telecommunications industry experience

In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologies

Extensive knowledge of Cisco’s switches, routers and load balancing equipment configuration and monitoring

Knowledge of BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols

Knowledge of CPE MPLS configuration

Strong Knowledge of router and firewall terminated VPN configuration and monitoring

In-depth knowledge of Cisco ASA, Check Point firewall, and Juniper Network products

Requires strong knowledge of WAN communications hardware and software and network management software

Knowledge of Radware / A10 load balancing devices

Enterprise data center experience preferred

Self-motivated, goal oriented and meticulous individual, who can adhere to departmental process and procedures and able to work with minimal supervision

Able to multi-task and manage changing priorities to meet! demands of internal and external customers

Demonstrate abilit! y to contribute to an atmosphere of teamwork through collaborative behavior and open communications

Ability to define and/or refine processes to benefit the team and customers

Excellent analytical, communication (verbal and writing) skills; process-oriented

Knowledge of Windows and UNIX networking and configuration

Knowledge of packet sniffers/tcpdump and ability to read information from packet captures

Knowledge of VMWare networking and configuration

Knowledge of cabling standards and ability to properly manage cable infrastructure
