We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior in our Federal Tax practice. Federal provides clients with tax guidance and planning related to working capital and long-term assets, as well as legislative analysis in the area of tax policy. Our people work on key client issues in domestic federal taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives; corporate tax; pass-through entities; S corporatio! ns; and industry focus.
Our Tax Controversy & Risk Management Services group can help companies negotiate a wide range of Internal Revenue Service issues, ranging from compliance with IRS procedures and policies to negotiating proposed tax adjustments. Our professionals combine years of experience with the IRS and Treasury Department with an in-depth knowledge of successful taxpayer advocacy to help clients address issues.
Responsibilities
Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work products. Supervise the work of Staff professionals.
Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare practical and effective appro! aches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusio! ns. Share tax planning ideas with others. Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals. Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas.
To qualify, candidates must have:
a bachelor's degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience
a degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field; an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable
CPA certification preferred
a minimum of 1+ years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry
broad exposure to federal income taxation
excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
