The Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) Provo office is seeking a highly motivated individual with professional work experien ce in an office setting to fill their Senior Assistant Caseworker - Front Desk, Clerical & Domestic Violence Support position. Principal Duties
A Senior Assistant Caseworker-Front Desk, Clerical & DV Support is a resource to the professional child welfare social work staff providing direct client services including: creating court dockets using Court XChange for upcoming court hearings (dockets are created for those with a Domestic Violence (DV) charge); determining if DCFS has a current open case or a past case; and emailing the courts before the court hearing and providing updates on each client's status. They attend court on Wednesdays at the Provo Justice Court and provide case updates if the court asks, and coordinate services. They update Court XChange and record what the courts ordered; prepare DV letter correspond ences; and mail notices to the clients and the courts. They have phone contact with the clients when they have questions and/or needs, and enter information in SAFE Web. They also collect and process fingerprints, and log BCI/Livescan paperwork needed for background checks and the adoption committee, and update activity logs, etc.
This is a benefited part-time position; flexible; 20-25 hours worked per week.

- Preparing letters and/or documentation for courts and/or clients.
- Mailing certified mail to clients or sheriff; tracking in SAFE case system.
- Creating, maintaining, scanning, and/or archiving files, reports, etc.
- Retrieving files for workers, AGs, supervisors, and audits.
- Assisting with 24-hour notifications and priors.
- Maintaining the upkeep of office equipment.
- Taking and transcribing minutes a t meetings.
- May assist with completing Medicaid applications.
Ideal Candidate
The model candidate for this position is someone who:
- Has professional work experience working in an office setting.
- Is adept at dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Is skilled with using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro to create and prepare documents.
- Communicates effectively, clearly, and concisely verbally and in writing.
- Has great public relation skills.
- Gives attention to small details for accuracy of information provided.
Preferences
- Preference may be given to applicants with previous and/or current experience working for the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS).
- Adobe Pro experience.
