Work as a test automation engineer on an exciting team tasked with providing development solutions for new applications, enhancing existing applications, and working within a cross-functional team to meet the needs of the business.
DUTIES
- The candidate will participate in the full software lifecycle of rich client and web client applications targeted at internal customers using current technologies surrounding Java SE and Java EE.
- The candidate will help create and maintain a test automation suite for new and existing applications.!
- The candidate will help introduce automated testing ! to a company that is relatively new to test automation.
- The candidate will work on a cross-functional team to create robust, high performance solutions that are scalable.
- The candidate will occasionally perform other responsibilities outside of their usual responsibilities such as manual testing or development tasks.
- The candidate will be available to participate in occasional after-hours software installations.
- BS in Computer Science, Informatics, a related degree, or equivalent experience
- Advanced understanding and experience with automated testing techniques
- Experience with test-driven development and TDD tools (JBehave/Cucumber, TestNG, or Spock, etc.)
- Experience with web based automated testing tools (Selenium, FitNesse, etc.)
- Ability to recommended automated testing tools for various types of tests and situations
- Ability to train manual testers on basic ! automation techniques
- Experience in the area of testing usability and navigation of web-based applications
- Experience testing Web Services
- Experience testing web-based security issues and solutions
- Relational database experience including SQL experience
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
- Values-based personality with the ability to work selflessly in a team environment
- Ability to maintain positive and healthy relationships with all project team members and customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 3+ years of professional automated software testing experience
- Detail oriented with attention to process
- Experience testing swing applications
- Exper! ience using Java EE application servers (Tomcat, Jetty, etc.)
- Experience with Maven, Subversion, Hudson, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience with alternative JVM-based languages such as Groovy, Ruby, etc.
- Experience with Linux/Unix
